How Far Will Your Golf Cart Actually Go?

Range claims assume flat pavement and a fresh pack. This calculator runs the honest math: usable capacity by chemistry (lead-acid gives up half its rating), real watt-hours per mile by terrain, and what the replacement pack will cost.

How the math works

Range = usable watt-hours / watt-hours per mile. Total capacity is voltage x amp-hours; usable capacity is what the chemistry lets you take: about 50 percent depth-of-discharge for lead-acid before you shorten its life, versus 90-100 percent for lithium. Consumption runs about 150 Wh/mile on flat cart paths, 200 on mixed neighborhood terrain, and 250 with hills or heavy loads. That is why a lithium conversion at the same voltage roughly doubles real-world range.
